Weather
At 4,000 feet (1,220 meters), Volcano Village is cooler than sea level locations. Our high-altitude rainforest remains lush all year long as we receive at minimum 100 inches (254 cm) of rain a year. The rainy season runs November to March. Plus, the Island of Hawai'i has eleven of the world's thirteen micro-climates. Just a few miles away in the Hawai'i Volcanoes National park, you can experience several different micro-climates in one day.
View the webcams in the park for a glimpse of the current weather conditions:
- Halemaʻumaʻu crater from the east rim
- Halemaʻumaʻu crater from the west rim
- Upper east rift zone from Maunaulu
Be prepared for cooler temperatures all year long and don't forget your jacket, umbrella and good walking shoes.
